Diaphragm Respiration Mechanism
The Air Exchange needed in the Lungs for Breathing occurs through Breathing Movements. Given that the lungs have no muscle, they are not able to inhale and exhale on their own.
When the chest stretches and expands, a subpressure is created that induces the inflow of air into the elastic lungs. When the chest lowers, the lung tissue is pressed together and the air in the lungs is squeezed out.
