Principle

An electrocardiogram (ECG) enables you to observe the regular sequence of heart contractions as well as to determine your heart frequency by determining the interval between two heart contractions. In a second experiment, you will measure the heart frequencies of test persons of various ages. You can then establish the fact that the average heart frequency at rest changes when the body grows.

Tasks

  • Record an electrocardiogram of your heartbeat at rest and calculate your resting heart rate
  • Table 2 shows the heart frequency of people of various age groups. Describe the age-dependent
    differences of the heart frequency and compare the heart frequency with your own resting heart
    rate
