Decomposition of organic substances in water

Product No: P0989000
Organic substances which end up innatural water bodies as waste water aremineralized by native microorganisms.Oxygen is used up and the organicallyfixed carbon content eventuallyeliminated from the water throughrespiration. However, due to thedecrease of dissolved oxygen nonpoisonous organic waste can threatenanimal life in the water. In the biological purification steps ofa wastewater treatment plant thisprocess of waste degradation is used bypumping air into the aeration basin. In this experiment the oxygen content ofclean water and waste water are observedand compared for several days.
