Gay-Lussac's law describes the relationship between the volume and the temperature of a fixed quantity of gas at constant pressure.
The glass syringe enclosed in the glass jacket is used to capture about 50 ml of gas and fitted with a rubber stopper. Then the heating bath fluid in the glass jacket is gradually warmed up with the heating apparatus and the temperature and volume of the expanding gas are recorded at short intervals.
