Coupled pendula on the magnetic board

Principle

Oscillations occur in physics in an extremely wide range of occurrences.They are macroscopically visible in the swinging and cushioning of cars or suspension bridges. In Nature, however, there is as a rule never a single oscillation but always only coupled ones. Only so can waves such as waves of water, light or earthquakes propagate. In this experiment, characteristic frequencies and the phenomenon of beatvibration with two coupled springpendula will be treated as an example.
