Amontons law

Principle

The ideal gas law describes the thermal state of the gas enclosed in a vessel relative to the properties pressure p, volume V, temperature T, and amount of substance n.  It can be used to derive three different laws which describe how a gas behaves when one of the properties is held constant. Amontons' law concerns the dependence between pressure and temperature at constant volume. Thus, in this experiment a constant volume of gas is enclosed in a gas syringe and a water bath is used to control its temperature.
