Zero gravity during free fall

Product No: P1500160
This experiment shows, in a particularlyeasy manner, that an object in free fallis not subject to acceleration. Thestate of free fall can, therefore, beused to simulate zero g, as it is experienced in space, e.g. in order totrain astronauts prior to space travel.Known examples for this type ofsimulation are zero-g flights. In orderto perform experiments in zero g, thedrop tower of the German Centre ofApplied Space Technology in Bremen(www.zarm.uni-bremen.de) can be used, for example. This experiment can alsobe used to determine the value of thegravitational acceleration with the aidof the height of the fall and the falltime, or to discuss the influence of airfriction on free fall.
