Function and Applications

The water scoop enables standard 500 ml samples to be taken from defined water depths. The open scoop is sunk and closed at the appropriate depth by a vigorous tug on the cord. In this way, plankton samples can be taken from deep water and, in addition, measurements of pH, oxygen and phosphate content, and also the hardness of deeper water layers can be determined, so that a concentration profile of the body of water can be drawn up.

Equipment and technical data

• Water scoop, 500 ml
• Shock resistant plastic body with builtin thermometer in a protective sheath, stainless steel stand and 10 m cord with length markings every 0.5 m to take samples from specified depths of water
• The water scoop can be lowered into a water from a boat, landing-stage or, using the telescopic rod 64760.00, from the shore.
