Friction

Principle

We deal with friction in our everyday lives and in technology. Without exception every movement on Earth is connected to friction, and therefore with a loss of energy and wear. Without friction, however, movement would not be possible at all. You could not walk, stop, hold on to something, etc.

Tasks

Measure the force required to pull a wooden block across a table. Determine static and kinetic friction for different material, weight and contact surface.
