Examination of rock samples

Product No: P1304800

Principle

We cannot percept the radiation from radioactive substances with our sensory organs. Of all of the pieces of equipment developed to detect such radiation, the Geiger-Müller counter is the most frequently used one. With the help of this simple experimental set-up, students should be put in a position to "discover" radioactive substances themselves. This necessitates that each experimental group be given various rock samples, which are either brought by the students themselves or collected by the Physics lecturer for them; the columbit sample should be added to the rock samples without any explanation.

Task

To determine which of the rock samples provided are radioactive.
