The general gas equation describes therelationship between pressure, volumeand temperature in an enclosed volume ofgas. A gas syringe serves to heat a volume of gas at constant pressure, whichis held at a constant temperature withthe aid of a water bath in the glassjacket. In contrast to the ?Volume expansion of gases? experiment the gas syringe is sealed with motor oil in thisexperiment and the ?Gas laws? Softwareis used. The pressure measurement servesto control a constant pressure and tocontrol the quantity pV/T in the Evaluation.
