The origin of acid rain with the Basic-Unit

Acid rain, which is predominately causedby anthropogenic air pollution from power stations, households and traffic, isthe cause of damage to forests and theacidification of soil and bodies of water. The immissions are mostly gaseous,but are also often in the form of aerosols, i.e. suspended solid or liquidparticles in a very finely distributedform. They contain gases (e.g. sulphurdioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide etc.) and the acids derived from them(e.g. sulphurous acid, nitrous acid,nitric acid, carbonic acid etc.). Inthis experiment, acid rain is to bearticially prepared by passing gasessuch as SO2, NO2 and CO2 through water,and the drop in pH resulting from theformation of acid then recorded.
