An alternating current circuit that consists of a coil and a
capacitor switched in parallel to each other is called a
parallel-resonant circuit. As is known from previous experiments,
there is a phase shift between the current and the voltage at a
coil or a capacitor in an alternating current circuit. In this
experiment, the phase shift between the current and voltage in a
parallel-resonant circuit is to be examined and the frequency at
which the phase shift is exactly 0°, which is the resonance
frequency fr,is to be determined.
