The pH value (a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions)
in running waters depends on the geological conditions, the
pollution load that is caused by agricultural production, and on
plant activities. This experiment shows how the pH value of a
stream changes even at a short distance and just a few kilometres
away from the spring.
