The thermogenerator consists of a block with multiple thermostats. These are connected electrically in series and thermally in parallel, so that their thermoelectric voltages add up.
Water baths can be used to bring the two sides of the thermogenerator to different temperatures. The amount and polarity of the voltage generated are measured and users can investigate which conditions are required in order to be able to drive a small motor.
