Function and Applications

To make evident the properties of the crystal lattice of ferromagnetic materials, especially of Weiss areas, of Barkhausen faults, saturation magnetisation, remanence and hysteresis. Suited for projection with overhead projector.

Equipment and technical data

  • The magnetic needles are held on low friction bearings between 2 transparent plastic plates firmly attached together.
  • The needle bearings are situated at the corners and in the middle of the hexagons.
  • Plate dimensions (mm): 150 ×150.
  • Magnet needles: 118.
  • Length of needles: 11 mm.
