Principle

The decisive element for the operation of a fuel cell is hydrogen. High concentrations of this are required for combustion in the fuel cell.

In this experiment, the current-voltage characteristic of an airbreathing fuel cell is examined, whereby no additional pure oxygen from the electrolyser is fed to the fuel cell.

Benefits

  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with a total of 10 experiments for Renewable Energy fuel-cell technology
  • The power supply used is versatile and is particularly suitable for pupil tests for all ages
  • Doubled learning success: Electric circuit diagram on top, real components can be seen at the bottom

Tasks

Does a fuel cell function when no oxygen is supplied to it?
