Principle

The current-voltage-curve of a solar cell describes its behaviour under load. The output power of a solar cell is at maximum when its internal resistance is identical to the external resistance.In order to record the characteristic curve, a resistance decade is connected
to the solar cell. The resistance decade has 12 switch positions with different resistance levels (also short-circuit and open). The values of these resistances have been selected in a manner that ensures that the course of the characteristic curve can be optimally represented. Voltage, current, and power are measured with the aid of the Cobra4 Sensor-Unit Energy.
