Principle

Turning a coil in the magnetic field generates voltage on its ends (induced voltage). After each half rotation of the coil the voltage and electric current change their signs. A light bulb can be operated with the electrical energy generated.

Benefits

  • Demonstrative experiment due to large instruments
  • Easy and sturdy setup
  • Display of measuring range, kind of current and unit also on the back side

Tasks

  1. Observe the voltage depending on the rotational direction and velocity of the generator.
  2. Observe the current and the brightness of the light bulb depending on the rotational direction and velocity of the generator.
