Principle

Sulphuric acid can be prepared by thermal decomposition of sulphates. The presence of sulphuric acid can be indicated by means of barium ions (formation of a white precipitate of barium sulphate). In this experiment students prepare sulphuric acid and study its properties.

Learning objectives

  • Preparation and properties of sulphuric acid

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for the topic acids, alkalis and salts matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
