Galvanic cells from a series of concentrations, their potentials and how to calculate them

Article no: P7401300

Principle

Silver/silver nitrate half-cells are to be prepared, in which the concentrations of silver ions differ in steps of powers of ten. The voltages between the various combinations of these half-cells are to be measured. The evaluation of them is to lead to the Nernst equation.

Learning objectives

  • How to measure and calculate potentials (with Nernst equation)

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for the topic Electrochemistry matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
