Comparison of a physical process and a chemical reaction

Article no: P7151200

Principle

Students gather in this experiment first impression of a chemical process and describe characteristics of chemical processes or reactions and therefore distinguish chemical and physical processes. The differences between chemical reactions and physical processes are illustrated in this experiment by heating naphthalene and sugar in a test tube.  In chemical reactions substances undergo permanent changes; new substances with new properties are formed.
