Electrostatic induction with conductors and non-conductors

Article no: P1084500

Principle

The pupils observe the effect of a force between charged bodies and uncharged conductors and non-conductors and they can explain the observed phenomena. They also observe with two uncharged bodies that forces of electrostatic induction can arise from a charged body.

Benefits

  • Quick and easy experiment for qualitatively understanding of electrostatic phenomena

Tasks

We see signs of elecrostatic induction. To investigate the effect of electrically charged rods and foils on paper fragments, aluminium foil and suspended aluminium rods.
