Magnetic flux density of a thin coil with Cobra SMARTsense

Principle

The strength of the magnetic field of a coil depends, among other things, on the distance between the coils. Expensive clothes or other goods are often electronically secured. These are unlocked at the cash desk with a magnet. There is always a place where the EC card must not be placed, as otherwise the magnetic strip of the EC card can be damaged. Further away, however, it is no problem to put the card down. The magnetic field becomes weaker with greater distance.

In this experiment the magnetic flux density as a function of the distance to the coil through which the current flows and the number of turns is to be investigated.
