Factors determining the reaction behaviour of metals

Article no: P7153100
Principle

If you heat metals (in air) many of them undergo chemical changes. This experiment shows that different metals  undergo this change with different velocity rates. The rapidity and the rate of the reactions depends on the one hand of the type of metal  and on the other hand of the fragmentation of the metal pieces.

Learning objectives

  • Reaction rate of metal oxidation
  • Factors influencing a redox reaction

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for all Inorganic Chemistry matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
