Helmholtz coils, one pair

Article no: 06960-06

Function and Application

The Helmholtz coil pair generates a large-volume homogeneous magnetic field between the coils.
It is used, among other applications, to investigate the deflection of electrons in a fine beam tube, to measure magnetic fields, or to clearly demonstrate electromagnetic effects.

Benefits

  • Easy assembly and precise alignment through standardized mounts
  • Robust and durable design for repeated use
  • Compatible with fine beam tubes and versatile for use in other experimental setups

Technical Specification

  • Two identical coils, each mounted on a base
  • 4 mm safety sockets
  • Removable cross connectors
  • Coil diameter: 300 mm
  • Number of turns per coil: 124
  • Maximum continuous current: 5 A
  • Maximum magnetic flux density (5 A): 3.7 mT
