The simple electrical circuit with Cobra SMARTsense

Article no: P1371669

Principle

The students should first perceive that an electric current can only flow in a closed circuit. To achieve this, the simplest possible circuit is used, in which there is neither a series or parallel connection, and which is therefore called the simple circuit.

The students should memorise which components or elements were used, their functions and the symbols to represent them.

Tasks

  1. Build an electric circuit with a light bulb.

  2. Examine the function of each component and how they interact.

  3. Integrate the current sensor into the circuit and analyze the current flow.

Learning objectives

The students should first recognise that an electric current can only flow in a closed circuit. The simplest of all circuits is used for this purpose. They should memorise the components used and their circuit symbols as well as their function and be able to build circuits according to circuit diagrams or reproduce experimental setups using circuit diagrams from the beginning of electricity theory.

Benefits

  • Contact saftey due to puzzle blocks system with corosion-free gold plated contacts
  • Doubled earning success: Electric circuit diagram on top, real components can be seen unterside
  • Future-oriented teaching: Integration of sensors (Cobra SMARTsense) into digital science education
