Current measurement with Cobra SMARTsense

Principle

Different mains voltages are applied to a simple electrical circuit, and the current is measured in series with the light bulb in each case. Finally, it is examined whether current flows in an open circuit.

Tasks

1. Set up the circuit according to the circuit diagrams and pictures.
2. Connect the Cobra SMARTsense Current to the measureAPP and measure the current for different mains voltages. Change the light bulbs for the appropriate voltages.
3. Observe the current in an interrupted circuit.

Learning objective

Students learn how to correctly measure the current in a circuit. They also learn that a circuit must be closed for current to flow.
