Conductors and non-conductors with Cobra SMARTsense

Principle

A simple electrical circuit is set up with an intentional interruption. This gap can be bridged by inserting different materials. For each of these materials, it is checked whether the bulb lights up and how much current flows. The measured current serves as an indicator of the material’s electrical conductivity.

Tasks

1. Assemble the circuit according to the circuit diagram and photos.
2. Insert different materials into the circuit to close it.
3. Record whether the materials conduct electricity and which current is measured.
