Kirchhoff’s Laws: Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law with Cobra SMARTsense

Article no: P6301869

Principle

In this experiment, an electrical circuit is set up in which various resistors are connected in such a way that Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law can be derived independently. To achieve this, the voltages across the individual components are measured and then added or subtracted accordingly.

Tasks

  1. Build an electrical circuit with resistors and nodes.
  2. Determine the voltage across each resistor and the power supply.
  3. Determine the current at one point in the circuit and calculate the voltage.
  4. Derive Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law.

Learning objective

The aim of this experiment is to understand how voltage is distributed in an electrical circuit.

Benefits

  • Simple setup in just a few minutes.
  • High resolution data acquisition (up to 10 kHz).
  • Improved media competence.
  • Safe student power supply (RiSU-compliant).
