Function and Applications
The device is used to demonstrate the undisturbed superposition of motions.
A launch rail mounted on a wooden base is tensioned using a spring mechanism. Two steel balls are used as test objects. After release, one ball falls vertically while the second ball is simultaneously projected horizontally. Both balls hit the ground at the same time. Two holes in the base plate are provided for storing the balls.
