Support rods for test tube and round-bottom flask - for LAB2

Article no: 32223-03
Function and Applications
The support rods form a glassware holder that keeps test tubes and round-bottom flasks upright and centred above the heating zone. They are placed on the support grid of the LAB2 electric burner so that the vessel stands freely in the column of hot air.

Benefits
  • Hands free at the device: The vessel is held firmly in the holder instead of being guided by hand with a test tube clamp. Vibrations and unintentional tipping over the hot zone are eliminated.
  • Less spattering: The holder guides the test tube centrally, so that the column of hot air extends along the entire tube and heats it more evenly – exactly the condition the LAB2 is designed to provide for heating with little delayed boiling.
  • No separate stand: The rod replaces the conventional stand assembly next to the burner; the work surface around the device stays clear.
  • Reproducible set-up: The distance and position of the vessel relative to the heating zone remain the same from experiment to experiment – an advantage for student experiments running in parallel.
Technical Specification
Metal rods for holding test tubes and round-bottom flasks.
