Function and Applications

Pair of conductor spheres, for quantitative measurement of electrostatic forces with the assistance of the torsion dynamometer.

Equipment and technical data

  • Extremely light conducting spheres (plastic with conducting surface) with rigid suspension rods to be fixed.
  • With clamping screws to the lever arm of the torsion dynamometer.
  • Force measurement without trajectory through the compensation method avoids measuring errors due to electrostatic induction.
  • Total distance between sphere centre and suspension arm 370 mm.
  • Sphere diameter: 38 mm.
