Conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy

Article no: P9510200

Principle

The filament lamps used in this experiment have very different power levels. It should be made clear to the pupils that pulling more strongly on the fishing line transmits more mechanical energy.

Once the physical relationships between voltage, current and power are understood, more detailed observations on the generation of electricity can be carried out in the additional tasks.

Benefits

  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with a total of 17 experiments for Renewable Energy Basics and Heat energy
  • Easy experimentation by mounting the generator in the stand base
  • Various electrical consumers can be connected to the generator

Tasks

Are you able to get a filament lamp to light up by turning the shaft of a generator?

Learning objectives

  • Conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy
