Principle

In this experiment students study mixtures and their properties (eg. water solubility). This experiment shows that finely divided materials and gases can be mixed in any proportion. Mixtures of solids generally appear heterogeneous, the individual components can be identified with the naked eye, whereas solutions appear as uniform (homogeneous). In this experiment mixtures are prepared from iron powder, sand, sodium chloride, and sulfur and their properties are investigated
