Principle
Human blood is observed under a microscope using a prepared specimen. The aim is to identify the different phases of cell division and to practise using the microscope safely.
Tasks
- Examine a blood smear under a microscope
- Identify the individual blood components
- Draw a diagram of the blood components, particularly with regard to their number, distribution, shape and size
Learning objectives
- Studying human blood under the microscope
- Identifying the individual blood components under the microscope
- Understanding the significance and function of the blood components
Benefits
- Basic experiment in biology
- Ready-made blood preparation is harmless to health
