Principle

When monochromatic light strikes a double slit, intensity minima and maxima appear behind it on a screen. The slit width and its slit centre distance can be determined from their positions at a known wavelength.

Benefits

  • Curriculum-relevant DEMO Experiment in optics
  • Equivalence to the corresponding student experiment
  • Stable optical bench
  • Compact, simple construction
