Principle
This experiment can also be carried out as a demonstration experiment. In the 600 ml beaker, experiments are carried out with a water height of approx. 11 cm. This allows a better spatial resolution of the temperature curve.
Temperature of the ice water: The water has a temperature of approx. 0°C to 1°C.
How much ice? The ice melts until only one layer floats on top.
Temperature at the bottom of the beaker: after 5 min: 4°C
Temperature of the ice layer: after 5 min: approx. 1°C
