Principle

Dissolution processes of solids in liquids are easy to represent with soluble salts in water. The soluble salts spread after some time completely in the solvent water, the solution process can be illustrated with the help of colored salts. The aim of this experiment is to illustrate the simple particle model and the dissolution process. In this experiment piece of potassium manganate and copper sulfate is added to a water-filled beaker without moving the water. The respective solving process  and color distribution in the water is observed.
