Function and Applications
As a compact teaching and laboratory device, the ripple tank provides a clear and quantitative approach to wave mechanics in secondary and higher education. With a frequency range of 5–60 Hz and an optional second vibration generator, classic phenomena such as reflection, refraction, interference, diffraction, and the Doppler effect can be investigated. Simply take it out of the cabinet, fill it with water, and start: the ripple tank is immediately ready for use, nearly silent, and particularly easy to operate.
Benefits
- Reflection-free wave tank on adjustable leveling feet
- 3-point leveling adjustment
- Excitation system with variable amplitude and frequency
- Stroboscope for synchronous or slow-motion visualization of waves
- Nearly silent operation
- Simultaneous LED display of frequency, amplitude, phase shift, and illumination mode
- Control of all parameters via the keypad located on the top panel
- Projection onto a transparent work surface for distortion-free display of the wave pattern
- Green high-performance LED for brilliant image reproduction
- Easy analysis of the wave pattern by simply placing a sheet of paper on the table
