Principle
If a voltage is applied to two electrodes immersed in an aqueous solution of an electrolyte, the ions move in the direction of the electrode with the opposite electrical polarity. Aqueous solutions of electrolytes are therefore electrically conductive.
Tasks
- Prepare an aqueous solution of copper sulphate.
- Investigate the relationship between voltage and current as the current passes through the solution.
Learning objectives
In the experiment, students should find out whether Ohm's law applies to aqueous solutions.
Advantages
- No additional cable connections required between the components - clearer and faster assembly
- Contact reliability thanks to interlocking components
- Hard gold-plated, corrosion-resistant contacts
- Double learning success: electrical circuit diagram visible on the top and real components on the bottom
