Principle

The skin contains sensory cells that perceive touch, cold, heat and pain. The so-called tactile corpuscles for touch stimuli are located in the dermis directly under the epidermis. They are arranged particularly closely together on the fingertips and lips. The more tactile corpuscles there are in one spot, the more sensitive the skin is there.
