Principle

There are different classes of acids, acids are generally divided into strong and weak acids. The strength of an acid can be distinguished (in the case of identical  concentration of every acid) by the reaction rate when the acid reacts with metals (and dissolve them). In this experiment students study wether acids react at varying rates with metals.

Learning objectives

  • Acids can be divided into strong and weak acids
  • Reaction rate for the reaction of metals and acids

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for the topic acids, alkalis and salts matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
