Principle

Carbonic acid can be prepared by letting strong acids act on calcium carbonate and by letting the carbon dioxide thus obtained pass into water.
Carbonic splits up easily into carbon dioxide and water again. In this experiment students prepare carbonic acid on the basis of marble and study its properties.

Learning objectives

  •  Preparation and properties of carbonic acid

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for the topic acids, alkalis and salts matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
