Principle
The potentiometer is used to set a variable resistance. This is detected by measuring the current in series and the voltage in parallel to the potentiometer. A threshold value is programmed for the Cobra SMARTsense Code at which the system reacts to a certain resistance.
Tasks
- Measure the resistance, voltage and current with varying resistance.
- Program the Cobra SMARTsense Code.
Learning objectives
Students should become confident in working with potentiometers and programming the Cobra SMARTsense Code. Ohm's law is illustrated with the help of the calculated resistance as a channel.
Advantages
- Particularly comprehensible and didactically prepared experiment description (reference to everyday life etc.) incl. protocol questions.
- Future-oriented teaching: Integration into digital science lessons with tablets or smartphones.
- Increased student motivation through use of the intuitive measureAPP.
- Increase in media skills.
- No additional cable connections required between the components - clearer and faster assembly
- Contact reliability thanks to interlocking components
- Hard gold-plated, corrosion-resistant contacts
- Double learning success: electrical circuit diagram visible on the top and real components on the bottom
