Function and Application
The Hg tube on the plate is used for recording the Franck–Hertz curve. It is a replaceable high-vacuum tube filled with mercury, which evaporates when the tube is heated in a heating oven.
Benefits
- Plane-parallel electrode system to avoid field distortions
- Indirectly heated oxide cathode with long service life
- Easy connection via a multi-connector for fast experimental setup
- Simple automated experiment execution using the power supply unit (09106-99) and software
- Clear visualization of the setup via the circuit diagram printed on the housing
