Function and Applications
The metal rod is a 35 cm long support rod to which a standard laboratory clamp is attached in order to hold a vessel freely above the heating zone. It is used on the LAB2 electric burner when beakers, flasks or test tubes are not to stand directly on the support grid.
Benefits
- Freely selectable height: The position of the clamp on the rod allows the distance to the column of hot air to be adjusted continuously, metering the heat input without changing the temperature step.
- Also for larger vessels: Vessels that do not stand securely on the grid can be heated in a suspended position.
- No separate stand: The rod replaces the conventional stand assembly next to the burner; the work surface around the device stays clear.
- Free choice of clamp: Any laboratory clamp already available can be used – the clamp is not included in the scope of delivery.
