Principle
In a series connection, the voltages of the batteries add up, while the current remains essentially the same. In a parallel connection, the voltage stays the same as with a single battery, but more current can be delivered or the energy can be provided for a longer time.
This experiment investigates this difference by measuring voltage and current.
Tasks
- First, build a simple circuit with one battery and measure the voltage and the current.
- Extend the circuit to a series connection of two batteries and measure the voltage and the current again.
- Now build a parallel connection of two batteries and measure the voltage and the current.
